Panama Canal

Description

Experience one of the marvels of the world in Panama Canal, which leads you to tropical beaches, jungle hikes and isn’t far from the cosmopolitan city of Panama with its upscale restaurants, exotic Panamanian cuisine and the finest boutique stores.  There are three sets of locks, two lakes and one long rock cut along the Panama Canal. You can certainly make a day of it here with a look through its Miraflores Visitors Center, which features a four-floor interactive museum that looks at the Panama Canal’s rich history and enjoy the view, including the one on the main floor with stunning views of canal transits. You can revive with a seafood lunch buffet or dinner on the menu at the canal’s upscale restaurant Atlantic & Pacific Co, which also has rich Panamanian coffee and desserts. You can enjoy the view at this fine dining restaurant from the balcony and watch the boats passing by on the water.  Just north past the Miraflores Locks, is the Pedro Miguel Locks, which can be seen from the highway to Gamboa. These locks are the middle set of locks and the smallest of the locks in Panama Canal and south of the Culebra Cut.
