Captain Garry grew up on his parents cruisingyacht sailing the East Coastof Australia, Papua New Guineaand the Solomon Islands.At the age of 18 the familyembarked on a two and a half year circumnavigation of the world.On returning to Australia he joined the Royal Australian Navy and becamea diver. On leavingthe service, Garry startedworking in the charter fleet on the Great Barrier Reef initially as a DiveMaster and eventually Captain. In 1990 he heard the calling of Super Yachts and has been wandering the world ever since. Garryhas a passion for the oceanand traveling.

Chef Johanngrew up in Durbanville, South Africa, surrounded by vineyards. His fatherfrequently enjoyed taking his two sons to dine at “fancy restaurants”. Johann’ssophisticated palate and passion for cooking developedearly on. He knew he wanted to be a chef, and as soon ashe completed high school he enrolled at the ICA (Institute of Culinary Arts) in Stellenbosch. Johann owned a very successful, upscale restaurantin St. Maarten for 11 years, unfortunately it was destroyed by hurricane Irma. He has catered to villas, privatejets, and also worked as a yacht chef on several differentyachts. His versatility andinnovative talents are well known in the industry. Recently he has startedmaking favorite South African recipes. Charterguests might sampleBiltong, a jerky-style snack, or Boerewors, a special sausage.Barbecue is anotherSouth African tradition. Johann says, “I love cookingin nature over open flamesor “Braai”, as we say.Cooking on a campfire is one of the most enjoyable things to do. I have aspecial spot in my heart for traditional South Africancuisine (Cape Malay),but my favorite cooking style is French cuisine. Japanesecuisine is also a favorite withmy guests.” “I have always been drawn to the kitchen”, saysJohann, “If I have to choose one reason that I’m so into cooking, it’s becauseeveryone loves good food! I immensely enjoy the happiness I bring with thisskill. Secondly, cooking
hastaught me so much about different ways of life, and about cultures and historiesthrough traditional recipes. I grew up around yachts, so a career in theyachting industry is a perfect fit. I get to cook at my highest level for thepleasure of wonderful guests from all over the world.”
